Eye cancer
This image shows a malignant (cancerous) melanoma tumour (dark patch) in the conjunctiva of the eye. The conjunctiva is the clear membrane covering the surface of the eye. Although the tumour has no effect on vision here, the tumour is likely to grow, causing blurred or double vision and eventual vision loss. Treatments include surgically removing the tumour, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, plaque therapy and laser therapy.
